The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is promised a great commercial success like many of its predecessors. To please the public, this model is equipped with a 120 Hz AMOLED screen, a 108-megapixel main photo sensor and a large battery. Here is our full test.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro is Xiaomi’s latest star on the border between the entry-level and mid-range. Unsurprisingly, an excellent quality/price ratio is put forward by the brand and we will see in this complete test of the smartphone if the promises are kept.
MASTERED DESIGN
Like its predecessors, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is a great smartphone. Here we hold a device 164 mm high and 76.5 mm wide with a thickness of 8.1 mm. In terms of weight, the product does not exceed the 200-gram mark, but still displays 193 grams on the scale. So it’s less cumbersome than we might have expected.

The comfort of grip offered by the Redmi Note 10 Pro is neat and appreciable provided you are not allergic to large formats. Without overflowing with refinement, the smartphone masters its finishes so that the plastic chassis and the two glass faces do not cause any discomfort.
In addition, despite a very classic front panel where the flat screen is pierced with a centered punch and framed by clearly visible borders, especially at the chin, the Redmi Note 10 Pro exudes a certain elegance with cleverly worked reflections to be pretty without being flashy. The anthracite gray of our version can turn to guède blue depending on how it is held. It is frankly successful.

On the back, there is also an imposing rectangular photo module in the direction of the vertical. It is composed of two floors so to speak. The wide base on which the flash is located is indeed surmounted by a thinner block where the four sensors are housed, the main one being highlighted by its reflective frame.
I will let you appreciate or not this integration, but I must tell you that this module is very protruding and therefore makes the Redmi Note 10 Pro really wobbly if you put it flat on a table — personally, I have rarely struggled to properly put the probe for screen measurements as much as on this model.

What else can I say? The top and bottom slices are very flattened and each house a speaker for real stereo sound. On the top, there is also a jack while the USB-C port is obviously below.
All the physical buttons are on the right and you have to stretch your thumb a little to be able to turn up the volume. The start key also serves as a fingerprint reader.

Splash resistance is guaranteed by IP53 certification while the front panel benefits from Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
A BEAUTIFUL AND LARGE 120 HZ SCREEN
With great power comes great responsibility and a great smartphone involves a big screen. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro embeds a consequent slab of 6.67 inches. The AMOLED display and the 120 Hz refresh rate make it possible to enjoy very comfortably a perfect contrast and a fluidity quite appreciable in everyday life.
That’s not all. The maximum brightness is also very good by reaching 654 cd / m², it is not at the level of the most premium OLED panels, but it is really very much enough for you to use your phone without difficulty in very bright environments.

Based on this premise, the screen of the Redmi Note 10 Pro is already very good for this price range, but its qualities do not stop there. After drawing our probe and the CalMAN software from Portrait Displays, we measure very well covered sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces in saturated mode. By default, the phone is set to auto mode which adjusts the colorimetry to the ambient brightness.
In this configuration, sRGB at 194% and DCI-P3 — larger and difficult to manage — at 130%. To put it another way, for a smartphone at this price, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is very good at offering a wide range of colors to the eyes of the user, which is always nice for movies and series.

MIUI: CUSTOMIZATIONS AND FRUSTRATIONS
Android 11 and the well-known MUI 12 interface are at the helm here, just like on the classic Redmi Note 10. Unsurprisingly, these are the same comments we will make here.
MIUI 12 offers a software experience very rich in customizations (dark mode, choice of contrast colors, activation or not of the drawer, size of icons …) and even has the luxury of offering, at the choice of the user, a notification center separates from the shortcuts panel and very freely inspired by what is done on iOS. We can be a little confused at first, but we get used to it quickly!
The whole is rather fluid, but we can regret that the settings menu is still a little messy for the neophyte accustomed to interfaces closer to the vision of Google on Android. Xiaomi does not sulk the Mountain View firm, quite the contrary: the Google Phone and Google Messages applications are available by default.
More generally, more care is being taken on the translation of options. The activation of gesture navigation is thus hidden in the “System navigation” menu, which is more intuitive than “Full screen display” where it was on previous devices of the brand. Unfortunately, not all mistakes have yet been corrected. In developer options, a “Don’t lock screen [sic]” feature makes you cringe with its unwelcome acute accent.
STEREO SOUND THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY
The two stereo speakers of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro do a very good job of providing quality and powerful sound. Without really being indicated to replace a speaker, the smartphone offers a good spatialization of the songs listened to. Moreover, even by pushing the volume to the limit, it effectively avoids saturation.

However, if the minds are very well managed and the treble remains good, the lower tones lack a little energy. Xiaomi highlights a Hi-Res audio certification, even on wireless listening, but remember that you can enjoy wired headphones on this Redmi Note 10 Pro.
EFFECTIVE ON THE PHOTO
Four photo sensors. Four more. A habit lately at Xiaomi. However, there is only one real star in the rear module: the 108-megapixel (f/1.9) main sensor.
It comes with three companions: an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with a 118-degree field of view (f/2.2), a 5-megapixel sensor for macro mode (f/2.4) and a final 2-megapixel for depth management (f/2.4).

By day, classic photos taken with the main sensor – and obtained after merging pixels – are well lit and display colors that are pleasantly obvious to the eyes. We thus observe a slight saturation that does not quite respect reality.
For night photos, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro manages to capture a good dose of light to effectively transcribe the atmosphere of the immortalized scenes. However, this smartphone remains positioned on the price segment around 300 euros and, as such, it does not get rid of the usual small defects of this price range.
Namely: a slight blur and noise that appears quite clearly when zooming in the image. It’s nothing too bad: low-light photos are still effective; they just don’t really go out of the ordinary.

In addition, the night mode is quite interesting to analyze in the sense that, at first glance, we do not necessarily realize what it brings. You have to take the time to look at the shot to notice the differences. This option opens the darkest areas, look at the lower right corner on the scene below. On the other hand, at the level of the sky, one could almost believe that this is the normal image where the night mode is activated.
In short, this function can be relevant depending on the situation, but it remains quite subtle in its treatment of the photo.
NO 5G FOR THE XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 10 PRO, BUT NFC
No problem is to report on 4G: the Redmi Note 10 Pro has always captured the Orange network in the Paris region. All French frequency bands are compatible. Note, however, that 5G is not at the rendezvous here, yet it is a point on which a model that is called “Pro” could have distinguished itself compared to the classic version.
But for that, we will have to turn to the Redmi Note 10 5G.
